The location — Rieden in the Vulkaneifel

The Eifel as it should be.
Quiet. Wild. Right there.

The house is located in Rieden (postcode 56745), in the Verbandsgemeinde Vordereifel, nestled between volcanic cones and mixed forest — not to be confused with Rieden am Forggensee in Bavaria. Your hosts

Agi & Jürgen welcome you.

"We built this house because we wanted to share the feeling that this lake gave us with others." — Out of love for Rieden grew a place where guests have been finding peace since 2015. Personal, honest, with the Eifel at heart.

Frequently asked

Before you book — the most important answers.

Where exactly is Ferienhaus Eifelgold located?

Right at the Riedener Waldsee in Rieden, a municipality in the Verbandsgemeinde Vordereifel in the district of Mayen-Koblenz, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany (postcode 56745). The house sits in the front row, just steps from the water. Important: this is NOT Rieden am Forggensee in Bavaria — we are in the Vulkaneifel between Mayen and Mendig.

How far is the Nürburgring?

About 20 minutes by car (around 20 km). Ideal for racing weekends, Touristenfahrten or events like the 24-Hour Race.

What sights are nearby?

Maria Laach Abbey at the Laacher See (about 15 km), the medieval town of Mayen with Genovevaburg Castle (about 12 km), the Vulkaneifel with the Mendig lava dome, Burg Eltz castle (about 30 km), and Koblenz with the Deutsches Eck (about 35 km). Hikers love the Eifelsteig trail and the many maar lakes in the area.

Does every apartment really have its own hot tub and sauna?

Yes. All four apartments have a private hot tub and their own sauna — exclusively for the guests of that unit, no shared use. It's one of the things that make this house special.

How many people fit into one apartment?

Each of the four apartments sleeps up to 4 guests, with two bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and a balcony with lake or forest view.

How do I get to Rieden in the Eifel?

By car via the A61 motorway (exit Mendig or Wehr), then about 10 minutes to Rieden. The nearest airports are Cologne/Bonn (about 65 km) and Frankfurt-Hahn (about 75 km). Free parking is available right in front of the house.

Can you swim in the Riedener Waldsee?

Yes — the Riedener Waldsee is an official bathing lake with a sunbathing meadow and a small beach area right next to the house. Great for swimming in season, year-round for walks around the lake.
